The Bhara Kahu Bypass Project is said to be the Game Changer for the region of Bhara Kahu and nearby areas. The Bhara Kahu Bypass project was issued to National Logistics Cell (NLC). The initial plan was to complete the project within 4 months. The Bhara Kahu Bypass project is a 5km road construction project that includes a  flyover stretching over 1km. The route of the Bhara Kahu Bypass is designed in a way that the bypass will begin from Murree Road near Quaid-i-Azam University stop and end at Murree Road near the Jugi bus stop adjacent to Punjab Cash and Carry. Then a 1 km flyover will begin which will route outside the Bhara Kahu bazaar towards Murree.

The plan for Bhara Kahu Bypass was laid out to tackle the always-existing traffic jams on the Bhara Kahu Road. The Bhara Kahu Bypass is expected to provide consolation to the people en route to Murree and Kashmir because the traffic is always jammed on the existing Murree Road in Bhara Kahu and the traffic jams get worse over the weekends because Murree and Kashmir are the popular tourists’ spots.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif laid the foundation of the Bhara Kahu Bypass project on September 30, 2022. But, now the Bhara Kahu Bypass is paused because recently a “Stay Order” has been issued by the Islamabad High court (IHS) against the construction of the Bhara Kahu bypass project because the construction of Bhara Kahu Bypass also included the land possessed by the faculty members of  Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad. The faculty members lodged a petition and the Islamabad High Court (IHS) issued the stay orders against the project. The future of this Game Changing Project “Bhara Kahu Bypass” is still a mystery for everyone until the next adjourned hearing.
