Tourism being promoted as per PM’s vision says KP CM

Peshawar: Around 115 Projects have been reflected in ADP for culture, museum, sports, archaeology, and Youth Affairs Department. 

This was clarified within the annual meeting for the Development program for the sports, Tourism, and culture department which was held here with the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in the chair. 

Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, as well as Principle chief secretary to the Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, Director General Sports Asfandyar Khattak, as well as the other related officials of the department, attended the meeting, as per a handout.

Out of the total number of schemes, 77 of the projects are for the settled districts whereas 29 of them are for the merged districts. Funds of around 14.5 billion have been allocated for the current year’s budget for these projects.

It was also reported that out of the 115 projects there are approximately 54 projects that are part of the sports sector, 34 projects in tourism, 6 in Youth Affairs, 15 in archaeology, and 5 in culture. 

The meeting was told that a total of 33 projects are now due for completion with budgets totaling Rs. 6.217 billion, similarly there will be around 15 high priority projects worth almost 37 billion that have been identified as well as Rs10 billion that has been specifically allocated for them in the current budget.

The meeting was briefed about the playgrounds in the province and it was also informed that the work was in progress for around 76 schemes in the different districts in the province. Out of these around 57 have been completed whereas the leftover 19 will be completed by the end of this financial year.

He noted that there will be ample opportunities for tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and these could be utilized for employment purposes and stabilizing the economy of the province whereas no such initiative was previously provided in the past as important as this sector is.
