KP Govt. and Asian Development Bank to start up work on new Projects:
Peshawar: The KP government and Asian Development Bank to launch work on new projects.
The KP government as well as the Asian Development Bank agreed to complete the formalities so that they can initiate the physical work on the upcoming projects. This is inclusive of the “Cities improvement project” to be executed in the five divisional headquarters of the province.
The Development came as a delegation of the Asian Development Bank that was called on the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. The delegation discussed the different matters of mutual cooperation and development Partnership in different sectors of the province.
The ADB Director General for South Asia, Yevgeniy Zhukov headed this delegation.
Shahab Ali Shah who is the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan as well as the Additional Chief Secretary as well as the administrative secretaries for relevant departments were present.
The various matters for the implementation of new projects were discussed and the progress that was made so far on the development projects that are being executed with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank.
Matters that are related to the enhancement of mutual cooperation and partnership of the KP government and ADB in the different sectors of the merged districts especially for the purpose of boosting the local economy and the employment generation opportunities have also been under discussion.
The chief minister stated that the ADP is the most important and the most trusted developmental partner for the KP government.
He also stated that the work on a number of developmental projects for the various sectors including the Hydel power, tourism, roads infrastructure, and the local government was in progress for the financial assistance of the ADB.
Mahmood Khan stated that the Bus transit project was a good example of a partnership between the KP government and ADB which has made a mark in the field of public transport.
He reported that the government has fulfilled all the preparations so that practical work can be started on the improvement projects however the land acquisition for the 300- Megawatt Balakot Hydropower Project is still to be resolved.
He also noted that the KP government will want rapid completion of the various schemes that come under the Provincial Roads Improvement Projects.
