Google, Google Play Store, and its services are the most widely used services by android users in Pakistan.4 days back a piece of news jolted the entire nation of Pakistan as the news emerged that Google play store billing services will no longer be operational and available in Pakistan from 1st December because the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) revoked the payment of $34 million to international service providers
The suspension of google services caused chaos in people as they thought they won’t be available to access the google play store and download the apps and avail of other google services. But, this is not true.
The news published by Express Tribune states:
“Google Play Store services will no longer be available to Pakistani users after December 1 as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has suspended the direct carrier billing (DCB) mechanism.”
Google service users won’t be able to use their credit card to download the paid apps of the google play store as the credit card has certain limitations. In this regard, the Ministry of Telecom, Pakistan as well as PTA have requested the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to reconsider their decision as the unavailability of google billing services will have adverse effects on people as well as the industrial sector because the entire is now globalized and relies on Google play store and google services a lot. Let us see what happens next because freelancers, other industries depend on payment by carrier providers as other online payment means are banned in Pakistan.
